In our experience, private tuition tends to be focused predominantly on the need to perform well in core subjects so teachers of Maths, English and Science have a captive market whilst teachers in other disciplines (Humanities, Art, Business, PE etc) are surplus to requirement. This seems a shame given the skills that we all have as pastoral staff, establishing strong relationships with students and their families, understanding their unique set of challenges and finding ways to get the best out of those students. Additionally, teachers may lack confidence in themselves setting up a tutoring business. Summit tutoring will help you find clients, provide you with resources for the sessions should you need them, manage your invoicing, keep you up to date with all legal requirements, support you through the self assessment tax process and even provide you with investment advice to make the most of your earnings.
